Week 2

During TWC session this week, we discussed about Technology, Society and Global Dominance as well as Technology and Human Development. I found that the topic dealing with Human Development seems more interesting as it has to do directly with myself as a human. Developments in this area could very well change the way that we live our lives. This reminds me of that show in which Bruce Willis acted in, "Surrogates". We could transfer our consciences into machines to lead our lives, in such a way that we are safe at home (from diseases and attacks) yet we are still out socializing and engaging in everyday activities.

An interesting thing to take away from this session is that technology is there and whether or not is is beneficial to us would be determined by how we use it. Many a times I blame facebook for not getting my work done, I blame the television for showing such good programmes. But if i actually take a step back and look, i'm the one who has to be blamed for not completing work that is supposed to be done.

Something that could be considered more is probably how technology has aid cultural dominance(for example the McDomination or Americanization). But as far as i'm concerned, i rather enjoyed the lesson and would give it a good 8:)
